Dr. Murphree earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed three fellowships at the University of Copenhagen, Baylor College of Medicine, and the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Murphree is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the USC Keck School of Medicine and leads the development of a world-class Ocular Oncology Service at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles and at the Doheny Eye Institute. Dr. Murphree and his colleagues have also developed new protocols for the treatment of retinoblastoma. He is Director of the Pediatric Ophthalmology Service based at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
